Just back from a nice 10km non timed run.
Bumped in to my cousins wife who was out running before the sun was up.
On the home straight i put my watch on for 2 marked 500m sections, gave a bit extra for that felt a little more pushed at 4:30/km pace....
I guess i am still coming back from 6 ft

longest run since, before that it was 4.8km yesterday.
Have a club race tomorrow 8km road which i would have liked to do sub 32mins but not sure i am ready for that at the moment!!

Longer term i still have my old goals of sub 40 for 10km, 18:45 for 5km, 90mins for a half

I am thinking of my reverse taper post six foot my second last week pre marathon was 19km and last week was only 8km! Think i better get back into or all my training will wear off eventually.

Another run i am considering is 2 Penny's Hellgate gorge 48km fatass on 21st April some of my friends are doing it as are some of my running acquantainces, the only thing that makes me nervous is the unsupported nature, water situation and lack of mobile coverage in case of emergency. The topography of this run makes it tougher than sixfoot and it is a turn to the darkside.Actually i am excited as i write this so i have made my mind up!

"Hellfate" gorge it is!!
Woohoo!

Ps the man in the mirror is smiling now.

always remember if you die on the trail they will put a memorial on the spot you died. How cool would that be! Then every year people will run by and say who was this again :)

Mate there will be a bunch of us there and you will be fine.

Welcome aboard the Hellgate Express R2B - it's the most fun you can have standing up :)

There's always the KJ half in July. Pencilled in for me this year again. Hellgate it is, completely darkside now.

All this talk of Hellgate is making me want to come too.

Maybe I will...

Be careful during this recovery phase, and don't worry too much about race times for a few more weeks.

Hellgate hey. Yep, you've definitely turned.

I guess you've already raced the 8k - which would be a good indicator of how the 6' recovery is going. I think I'm still feeling it a bit.

Hellgate sounds adventurous. I'd be worried about snakes. Orienteering style long pants or gaiters would be on my shopping list, but I'm not doing it!

Sounds like a great challenge. I'm impressed with your 6 ft effort even if you're having a hard time convincing yourself. I looked at the elevation and compared it to my runs - maybe I should change my blog name to running upmounds! Hmm... not a great ring to it.

Post marathon blues, I think we all get it. Looks like you're coming through it ok.

Sounds like a great Fatass event.

Those are some good running goals you have. Come on over to the darkside and do the 48k Fat Ass. I'm sure you will do great.

How did we cope when there were no mobile phones! I'm sure you'll have fun doing Hellgate.

keep taking it easy mate, and be careful with that quick stuff. It's not long since 6FT (congrats on a great finish btw - even if the cramping was a problem), and you'll still be recovering.

great to hear about the hellgate plans, and that the mirror man is a happy man once again :)
