Okay so i have to start some where as procrastinating as i am!
6Ft track 45km marathon
Finished 435th/800ish
time 5:43 ish
race beautiful scenery but 27km of cramp made it no fun at all.Was at Coxes River crossing with the right splits for a low 5hr finish.
Pleased i finished at all with the blisters and cramps but already looking for revenge on the cramp bear next year!
This race is addictive and so like the Terminator said....

Hey R2B 5.43 aint too shabby - well done mate carrying on.
Excellent result R2B
It was your 1st time also, right?
It seems that all this hard trail training has had a positive effect on your times all round.
keep up chiping away at those times.
Yes excellent result. Nobody can defeat the Primo Assassino! He never surrender. I think I need your help for some italian races!
The time is ok for the first time. More KJ runs during next summer I think might help, plus doing the longer 30k+ runs for the endurance. Were you already cramping at Alum Creek when I saw you?
As others have said, that time is not too shabby. I'm thinking I may join you next year for this. Reading so many 6 foot reports, I just gotta do it.
Congratulations! Just finishing is amazing. After looking at 2P's photos at marathon-photos.com I have a new appreciation as to how damn hard that race is. My hat goes off to you.
Congratulations...that's a great result for a first up effort with cramps and blisters on what sounds like a tough course. Now you've got a mark to beat!
Congrats R2B! That's a great finish time.
Seems the cramp bears were out in force on Saturday. At least you didn't take a tumble ... or did you? I guess I have to wait for the rest of the report :-)
Glad to hear you got it done. It's hard not to get addicted to these kind of races. I hope the recovery is going well.
Great to finally meet you (and the family) on the weekend Adrian.
Nothing wrong with 5:43 for a debut. I predict sub-5 next year! :)
Re the cramps, I had them last year. This year no problems - used my own drink of 'Exceed' (magnesium) with added table salt. Try salt tablets during your long runs.
pity the cramps slowed you down mate. But i was glad to have the company.
Hey, that's a great result R2B. Its even better having had the cramps and stuff.
Seeing as its your first one, its a PB too! Well done.
Hey! Well done on finishing :-) I did not see you... but I was a bit off my head on saturday! See you around!

I can give you congratulations on many fronts Adrian: just for running it (a feat in itself), for your great time, and for battling on. I've never met you but have got the impression (could be wrong) that you prefer the shorter stuff, born out by your recent 5k times. So, given all that, you had a tremendous run.
Nice run R2B.
catch ya round.
And I missed seeing you again and I heard your were there.
good running.
cheers PLu
A nice time R2B. I am inspired by reading these stories of running such a difficult race with cramps. Well done!!
Given the circumstances to finish is a massive achievement. To go sub 6hrs is even better. Although not what you were after you know what to expect and I hope that next year you can have a better shot at breaking 5 hrs. Congrats mate!
Sounds like you had a tough time but with a week's hindsight I'm sure the sense of achievement remains long afetr the pain subsides.
Well done.
Awesome 45km time, especially with the cramps. I live in Houston and have battled heat cramps here in marathons several times, so I can appreciate and respect what you went through.
On a side note, I wanted to thank you again for linking to our running Blog Database on the main Faithful Soles web site, which has now grown to bloggers from 38 states in the USA and 21 other countries. Keep up the great work and you'll overcome those cramps next year.
Glad to see that you enjoyed it. After reading a lot of race reports I plan on putting 6 Foot on the calender next year.
